Record release policy

(Effective January 11, 2022)

The following search waiver records are public records upon the hiring of an individual and will be released pursuant to a public record request subject to the redaction/withholding of confidential personal and/or personnel information:

  • Search waiver request forms (to include the selected reason for the waiver)
  • Package comments
  • Job descriptions/position requirements

If an individual is hired through the search waiver process, upon request the university will release the information required to be released pursuant to Iowa Code Chp. 22.7(11), which includes name, salary/compensation, hiring department, and job title/position.  In addition, once the individual is hired, the final signed offer letter will be subject to release.

Fees for the staff time involved with retrieving, reviewing, and redacting records will be assessed in accordance with our public records fee schedule.
